The little sweater shavers are horrible & they take forever. Go to one of the linen stores and get a larger one. I know, around here they sell them at "Linens & Things" or "Bed Bath & Beyond".
Ya know, it's a delicate operation, trying to get fuzz off of a sweater. Sometimes you have to hold the shaver on certain spots for a couple seconds or apply a little more pressure, but you can't hold it there too long or it will eat a hole in the sweater.
Good luck!!!

Put the sweater on a hard surface like a counter and press down hard when you use the little fuzz shaver or get one of the other type de-fuzzers at a sewing store. It is like a little piece of lava with a "handle" strip of plastic that you rub over the fabric to take off the "pills" but it only works on the smaller knit fabrics.

I don't know what kind of sweater shaver you have, but I have one that works really well and I love to use to shave my sweaters. (wow this sounds weird... but I hate those stupid little fuzz balls too!!)
I don't know where you're from but if you have a Container Store near by you should stop by because they have really good electric ones for under $10. check the link!

I've used a razor before to carefully remove fuzz balls from sweats, sweaters, shirts, & pants. But they make a battery operated clothing shaver just for that.

umm i was told to use some type of electric hair trimmer or clippers....ive tried it on some bulky sweaters and never had a problem...also so that they dont get those little lint/fabric balls try either hand washing or washing and then line drying instead of using the dryer

you can use a standard dispoal razor and gently go over the sweater and you should be cutting off the fuzz balls but remember to be gentle!

I've used all of the above before & to be quite honest, some of those gagets work a little, but for the most part you just have to live with it. I know, it stinks.

Try this one product called the Tobi. It's like a drycleaner tool. It rids dust mite and lint. Plus odor.

Maybe apply pressure when using the shaver you have already or put new batteries in it if necessary.

I have done it with very small scissors and a long boring movie on TV. It works but will never look new again.
