It looks like you spelled something wrong, and nobody is going to know how to pronounce it.
Bear in mind this child has to live in the real world with the label you hang on her - she's not a stuffed animal.

I like Malanie much better than Melanie, but I like both. I think Malanie Paige is a cute name. I have always like that name, but I was afraid that it would be pronounced like Melanie no matter how you spelled it.

I quite like it but probably spelt Malaynie or Malayney or Malaynee

otherwise it would be mispronounced as Melanie but with an 'a'. Thats how I first saw it until I read the pronounciation.

Oh and 'Malaney Lee' is too repetitive for me. Possibly Malayney Jasmine or Malayney Paige would be cute!

BTW there is a town called Melany about 2 hrs from where I live in Queensland Australia!

best of luck

Sorry, but I'm no huge fan of Malanie. I like Melanie, though. If you pronounce Melanie like Me-luh-nee.

I don't really like it. I like Melanie, but not Malanie. And if her name is Malanie, Lee doesn't really sound good in my opinion.

I like it, but it will be mispronunced for 12 years or more by teachers and professors.
It is pretty, so use it if you like=)

If it's spelled differently, it will cause alot less confusion later on..
Melainey
Malainey
Malaynie
Melaynie

I also think Malanie Grace would be a pretty name..

Good luck!

I think you will be pronouncing this name for the child and then the child will have to all their life. Keep it simple. Melanie is cute without the confusion. Lee sounds hillbilly.

My honest opinion ... Nope, it's not good.

Lanie (lay-nee) is a name I've heard, but I've never heard Melanie (meh-luh-nee) pronounced Ma-Lay-Knee ... and I really don't like it.
Lanie by itself sounds ok. Melanie is a pretty name.
Melanie (meh-luh-nee) Lee is ok
Lanie (lay-nee) Lee is ok
Both sound more southern - too hick for my taste.
But in all honesty, if you and your spouse love it, then use it.
Congratulations

I don't like it... I think Maleena sounds better... it's still different but kinda the same.... and I would go w/ Lee for a middle name either way... the "L" sound starts becoming redundent and it has no flow... try names like Kay, Jo, Noelle...
