Fingerprints have SO many different areas that you could focus on, that you should just do some research and pick the one that interests you most. You could focus on chemical developers for fingerprints, the amount of damage it takes to permanently scar your fingerprint, how often washing your hands effects they quality of print left behind... your choices are almost limitless.

Just make sure you get a few good pictures to go along with your presentation. Some people don't understand the uniqueness of their own fingers until they see it magnified.

Good luck, you picked a great topic!

Why not do a project on how there are no 2 fingerprints exactly alike? You could get samples from family and friends and maybe have them touch various surfaces then show how you match them up to the correct person.

You might want to go with enlightening your teachers with similar methods of individual identification methods, such as iris imprints, DNA Matching and voice recognition. You could still include information about fingerprinting, but I might also suggest discussing how many convicted killers have been set free by DNA evidence although their fingerprints may have been found at the murder scene.
Hope this helps....I hate to say it, but one day to pay for groceries, I have a feeling we will have to submit blood.

Talk about the different ways they "develop" fingerprints. From powder to "superglue" to ways they are detected. Track how the technology has changed, or how it hasn't.

you could talk about how the police find fingerprints on something to come to a conclusion of a suspect, and then speak about the different type of objects they use, and how well it works.
