Why does our species so often try to resolve disputes with murder?

Human beings have an instinct called self-preservation that enables them to kill.

Some humans have no control over their urge to kill when they are in organized groups of other human beings. No one knows why, but usually its their upbringing.

Humans have to be taught how to handle other humans. Sometimes the instruction doesn't work. If you take a human who rose, somehow, to a position of power in a family, community, or society and abuses that power by murdering people than you have a rogue. What do humans/animals do with rogues in their midst.--They either cast them out or murder them. Such is life on the planet.

This question (as asked) is not political, it involves psychology.
From the POLITICAL viewpoint, violence is necessary to prevent unjust deaths and tyranny. THAT is not murder.
We are violent because we have the capability to THINK about the injustices perpetrated by evil people. We then assume the responsibility and take necessary actions to reduce the effects of those evils.

Actually, in the grand scheme of nature, humans resort to violence mush less often than many other animals. Nature is violent, that's life.

Ask the Liberals, they are the ones that have murdered the millions of innocent people.
Liberals like Stalin, Pol Pot, Mengistu, Mao, Mugabe, Castro, and Hugo Chavez.
Almost forgot Howard Dean.

I think it has to be something biological. I really don't understand it either. How come there are so many murders committed by people's loved ones? I don't ever understand it, but this one really puzzles me. I think it is biology mixed with our society's need for a "quick fix".

Part of it is because we compete.
Competition causes aggression.
Add in the stress of life and mix in a little romance or finance and there is a volatile mixture.
