I want my kid to play soldier FIRST CLASS. He is 15. We have a big yard. There's no laws that say he can't shoot on our property.
I figure getting him this will not only make him really happy, but stick it in my lib neighbor's noses.
I also like this:

I want my child to be happiest and my neighbors freaking out, because it is my right to do what I want, within the law.

Well, you certainly won't win any parent-of-the-year awards, fer sure.

What a terrible parent to use your minor child as a tool to aggravate your neighbors....Nice values you are instilling in him.

I feel sorry for him.

Have at it, but a little caution would be advisable. No shooting at birds, or anything else of the wild. Be sure that there is ZERO chance of a pellet going any where but into the back stop of a target, and never in the neighbors direction. If you can do that, then let them whine all that they want, the law can not do anything , PROVIDED, you are within the legal limits of the community laws. If the city, or what ever area you live in permits the discharge of pellet guns, or small caliber weapons, then there is nothing the neighbors can do. That said, if the government says no to the discharge of any kind of weapon within their jurisdiction, then you might be held at fault for violating the law, even if you are on your own property. Be sure that you are right, before claiming that you are right. Ignorance means nothing in a court of law.

Probably within your rights.

And one day when he goes off your property with the air rifle and freaks out some other gun loving neighbor, guess who will be attending your son's funeral? YOU.

Even though that may not happen, and probably wont, Your liberal neighbors will just find some way to get your knickers in a twist too. It becomes a pretty nasty game.

I am a Liberal surrounded by extrovert conservatives, so I kinda know how you feel.

Just find some other conservative friends around you and forget the tit for tat in your face stuff. It consumes you and gets difficult to get any real work done.

It's too bad you invest all your energies in being an obnoxious, ignorant person that only chooses to spread hatred, bias, bigotry and contempt for others who disagree with your particular political dogma.
It would be a lot better use of your time and energies if you taught your son tolerance, compassion, and love for his neighbors, regardless of their political views, sexual orientation, religious beliefs or skin colors.
We need more unity in this country, not more division. Stop being brainwashed by the poison venom that Limbaugh spits out every day and try thinking for yourself as a decent human being with values, morals, wisdom and integrity instead of someone hell-bent on 'sticking it' to someone with whom you disagree philosophically or politically.

Nothing like the "love thy neighbor" attitude. Glad you're not my neighbor.

Amazing you can buy these things on line. What is to keep your 15 year old from buying it himself?

If you're going to get your kid an air gun at least get him a good one. These are highly accurate and powerful. They can be used for small game hunting too.

You should love your neighbors, Id say you might need to seek a therapist, or maybe a church.
God is about Love, not Hate.

This will get your lib neighbor's all worked up:
http://www.pyramydair.com/p/daisy-red-ryder-bb-gun.shtml
Your kid will not like it, at 15, he's too old for that one.

Why not get a "reasonable" pellet gun like these?

Then instead of being an obnoxious nut job, go out there with a proper pellet trap, safety glasses, etc and shoot TOGETHER as RESPONSIBLE members of society...

That would probably shock them more. Thanks for giving moderates and "reasonable conservatives" a bad name. Thanks for feeding the liberals more fuel for their "guns are bad" campaign.

I suggest a paint ball gun with "real blood" (not real blood just red like blood) paint balls. Make sure he screams a lot and executes the enemy after he interrogates them. Oh, it wouldn't hurt to have some of his friends dress like hippies and carry one of their anti-war signs. He could execute them too.
