I wrote down in my notes or biology that adrenaline is a protein. If it is a protein then it can't be a part of endocrine signaling which involves hormone. Protein can't enter the plasma membrane like steroid hormone. So is adrenaline made in the pituitary gland? and is it a protein or steroid?

Adrenaline (AKA epinephrine) is made in the Adrenal Gland. It is a derivative of the amino acid Tyrosine (therefore, it is not a protein because proteins are long chains of amino acids).

Adrenaline is NOT a protein, nor a steroid. It is a catecholamine, also known as epinephrine. It is, under some circumstances, considered a hormone, because it can be released into the blood stream, and act at remote targets. To my knowledge, it is not made in the pituitary, but I'm not positive about that. It is mostly made in the peripheral nervous system, and not much in the central nervous system.

Adrenaline(epinephrine) is a bioactive amine derived from the amino acid tyrosine. It is not a protein or steroid. It is synthesized by the adrenal medulla, not by the pituitary gland. The steroid hormones cortisol and aldosterone are produced by the adrenal cortex.
The adrenal mudulla releases epinephrine and norepinephrine in times of stress, getting the body for fight or flight.
