I'm tall (5'10) and my husband is shorter than I am (5'7) he doesn't care if I wear heels and look like a gargantuan...but I do. We have a wedding coming up in a few weeks and I have to buy a new dress and was wondering if there are any types of dresses or skirts that look nice with flats. Everytime I try to put flats on with a long skirt I feel like I look like a frumpy Amish woman so I think the longer than chin length dresses/skirts are out of the question...but I also don't like wearing anything super short...dilemmas! Anyway please help! Thanks

Try something knee length, and make sure your flats aren't frumpy/amish.
Maybe like this-

With flats like these-

You could easily wear a pencil skirt, hemline just about 1 inch below the knee, with very feminine and sheer blouse that has ruffled accents in the front, blousen long sleeves and long snug cuffs. Wide belt at the waist, that matches your shoes. With coordinating hose, your flats will blend right in, and you will look stylish instead of frumpy.

lol yeah, I don't like flats with long skirts. I find that Jean skirts look good with flats. Straight, knee-length skirts look pretty good too! I think the flared knee-length skirt looks really cute with flats too. But you know what? I'm short, 5'3'', so this looks good on me. You might look best with shin-length. You would just look girlie with knee length, flared or not, and flats. So go for straight, shin length.

Oh,, I am tall like u... and self conscious of my height..

Wear a black skirt just below the knees..
with a sweat her w/ decorations on it ... to dress it up... then wear pump heels..
get Ur man to wear western boots..
and it will give him height..
or for Christmas just make it a gift...???
they are comfortable... and look nice.. and get the big heel so he doesn't look femime..
Ur so lucky that he is all man,,, and it doesn't bother him...
good luck

Wear dress that hits the top of the knee; either slinky or fitted.
Then nude [ skin color ] hose.
Wear peep toe; sling back; or slightly pointed shoes with toe cleavage [ make legs look longer. ] Maybe a fancy material [ velvet, satin, embroidered ], or metallic, or matching dress.

I would wear a flowy dress, that is tightend at the waist. I would pick a silky black dress with detailed black flats. Sometihng along these lines, but with a tighter inseam on the waist http://www.dillonrogers.com/ hope you look awesome with what you choose!

I feel that skirts tend to either look kind of trashy or cheap if they are tight and short, or they are simply just the ordinary jean skirts that aren't necessarily sexy.

Try maxi skirts with the relative side slits those can look great on you! It doesn't matter if you have long legs or not only strut that skirt
