Democracy , or representative government works just fine wherever people practice it. The thing is that the very word democracy means "people rule". It has to come from the people themselves not outside forces.

There are several muslim countries that have this type of government such as Turkey, Malaysia, Indonesia, Pakistan Bosnia. Two of them have even elected female prime ministers. We haven't even had a female chief executive here. The idea that muslims or arabs can not live in democracies is a myth started by imperialists and racists which unfortunately many decent people have been tricked into believing due in large part to slanted media coverage. The fact is that the change from dictatorship to democracy is always complicated ,often violent (it certainly was in this country) and takes time to implement.

The FACT that in the U.S.A. we did not even extend full rights to all races of citizens until almost 200 YEARS AFTER independence from Britain speaks volumes about how difficult this type of thing can be

We did not accept Hamas based on pure hypocrisy. The nature of democracy is that THE PEOPLE CHOOSE THEIR REPRESENTATIVES. The people of Palestine spoke , and because WE didn't like their choice we chose to starve them through sanctions and say that their choice was invalid.

The message there is that they should either pick who WE want them to pick or we will punish them. This is not supporting democracy it is STIFLING it!!

The international community does not care about democracy it cares about STABILITY. The issue with Hamas was that it was widely believed that they would bring violence and turmoil and so we launched a sort of pre-emptive strike by issuing sanctions before they had even taken office. The idea was that the best way to keep them from being a threat would be to crpplie the govrnment from the outset , turn the people against it ( make the people regret their "CHOICE" ) and spark infighting among the different groups thus taking their focus away from the destruction of or the settling of terms with Israel.

Of course the standard line from the very people who plotted the demise of the Hamas led government is that democracy can't work over there. We should read between the lines and see that this is only an excuse to take control away from native peoples. This very argument has been used throughout the history of imperialism. Divide and conquer. Support unrest, sow discord, and thenclaim that the people are uncapable of ruling themselves.

DON'T FALL FOR IT !!

Western style democracy will fall in the middle east because of conflicting views between both societies. Also, the koran has a huge impact in the middle east like the constitution is for us

you will find that all of this has nothing to do with democracy, or anything else connected to human welfare. its money and oil, period. if it wasnt for that, there would not be a war today. most people in the united states would rather be left alone and leave alone. its the government going against the peoples wishes. all the people in different countries are just trying to get by and providing for their families. the leaders are the ones who make people kill someone they dont know. it sucks.

Decode this lyrics " Everything I do, do it for you"
Don't think it's western style.
Just having our creator's universal gifts of life vital for the survival and advancement of living human kind.
Not in moving backwards in time and be the "Last of the Mohican"
With failures and horrors of the past.
While being left behind in time.
Like a cave-men born and raised by the dead Mummy of failures and horrors of the past.
With the glory of "I was an ape-men"
Luke 6.39-40,41-45,46-49
Luke9.55-56,50
The blunders and slip-ups with human errors in the creation of living human kind to be the Son o fGod being expose in time after the mystery of us-911.
Luke 10.24
What do you think?
