If it's something that your body is used to, then by all means, you should be fine. If you find yourself getting tired, ask for more breaks at work, or a chair to perform other duties from. I'd also suggest talking to your doctor about how much you can expect from yourself physically. Towards the end it might get more difficult. Make sure your employer knows that you're expecting so they can accommodate you in any way possible. Do not let them expect too much from you or put you into a position to over-exert yourself.
Good luck and congrats!

This job will be okay for awhile but just wont be practical later on in your pregnancy. I would continue to look for a better job and work this one until you find one. You need much more rest than it sounds like you are getting. Although it's not early enough to really hurt your unborn, the stress could actually be bad for you and the baby, not to mention your 5 month old. I worked a retail job as a cashier with my first pregnancy and standing for 5 hours was hard enough for me when I got closer to my due date. I would get light headed and have to sit down. I only worked 5pm to 9pm. I would seriously consider finding another job where you get longer breaks and can sit down more. Possibly with better hours. There are several jobs out there that are more flexible for the pregnant women. (I work at an outbound call center and am one of 5 pregnant women.) If you really like this job I would see if you could work out a longer break or maybe two breaks. Also see if they can get you a stool to sit on when you can. Make sure that you have someone who can watch your 5 month old so that you can get a few decent hours of uninterupted sleep. Good luck and congrats!

You should be fine as long as you are otherwise healthy. In fact you may have an easier labor because you are this active during pg. With my first I was in a desk job and had to be induced. I was very swollen from the sitting all day. With 2-4 I was at home all the time and rested as I wanted. I felt much better and hope to always do that in the future, but with 5 I worked on my feet from 4pm-12am 4 days a week, homeschooled, taught a science class for homeschoolers 2 days a week, and had my own four at home during the day that were 1-5 yrs old. I was worn out during pregnancy, BUT baby was larger than the others (and I didn't have gestational diabetes or anything), I was more muscletoned for labor, I recovered quickly despite his size being an issue at birth. You can do it! Women's bodies are amazing in their creation! God knew just what He was doing! Enjoy your little ones!

If standing on your feet that long is not something you normally do, then it could possibly affect your pregnancy negatively.
I don't see what immediate detrimental effects may occur beside stress, but you probably won't feel like working that job for very long, especially as your pregnancy progresses.
If you can find employment elsewhere, that would probably be best in the long run. Unfortunately, it will be hard to find another job will accept a pregnant woman.

If you are used to being on your feet that much and aren't lifting heavy things, then I would say no. The further you get in your pregnancy, however, the more likely it will be that being on your feet that much will get really uncomfortable. I'm 24 weeks and my feet swell just from walking around the mall. Talk to your OB about your job - if there's anything he or she doesn't agree with, you can get a note to be reduced to lighter duties when and if being on your feet that much causes problems. Good luck and congrats!

They have to treat pregnancy as a disability even though it really isn't. If something at your job is physcially too hard for you to do (lifting, standing, etc) then they can't force you to do things. They may be able to push more paperwork on you but you need more than a half hour break. Talk to your doc about this and see what he/she says.

No. Working and moving is actually very healthy for baby. It beats sitting around, eating, and doing nothing all day.

As long as you are healthy then no it shouldn't. My sister did it and she wasn't all that healthy. You will need to check with your OB though just to be safe. Congrats!!!
