when do i put my clock back an hour?
and does it do anything like give me an extra hour of sleep or something?following the same schedule.

this thing confuses me. the only thing i get is that we go back an hour with our clocks in the winter is so it is lighter when we wake up(earlier) and gets darker later.

why in the summer?this thing confuses me. and we will be going into daylight savings time right?

No, we will be coming out of daylight savings time and it will be next week in the USA. The goal of daylight savings time is to give people who work from 8-5 more lighted time in the evening and also with the hope that they will use the daylight instead of using electricity.
You can change your clocks any time, although officially it happens at 2am DST when they are set back to 1am. You don't get extra sleep unless someone else resets the clocks after you set the alarm or you go to bed at your usual time and reset the clock before falling asleep.

Next weekend, Sunday at 2:00 a.m. November 4.

Sorry I can't answer your other questions. I've never seen any logical reason for doing this. Maybe someone else can explain.
