Young kids are so easily influenced by what they see and want to imitate it. In schools kids put eachother into groups based on music interest, clothes, ect. Its possible that he may be trying to fit in, but him only being 12 it might just be the music. Blocking the tv channels and computer was a good choise. MTV, VH1, and BET tend to show alot of rap. The lyrics alone are bad enough. For your sake I hope he is just going threw a phase. Do keep in mind though just cause he is dressing like one doesn't mean he will completely act like a thug. You need to find a way to get the cursing under control before there is no stopping him. If you can show him that he can't do that than he might not try other things. You may not like the way he is dressing or any of it but don't make him completely rebel by taking it all away. Maybe try and make a deal with him. He can wear the clothes and listen to rappers who you aprove of but he can't curse, do drugs, or anything else to imatate rappers. What I would do is take him down to the poorest part of your town or even the projects if you live near one. Show him that he really does have it better then them. That they are living that way cause they have to and that he is trying to imatate a life style that really isn't great at all. Try to explain to him that the baggy clothes he proubley wears like rappers are away for people like that to hide things they've stolen or their weapons or drugs. And ask him if he really wants people to think of him like that. Sence you've raised him for so long as a single parent you might try finding him an older male that he could look up too. You might even check with his school and see if they have a big brother big sister program were highschool students or adults come in durring the school day like at lunch and eat and talk with them and take them to go do things on the weekends. Its a really great program and really good for single parent kids. I would use Military school as a threat first and see if he doesn't start to straighten out but I only would really use it as a last resort. I'm not sure if its the answer but it might be just what he needs.

50 Cent makes well over 10 mil a year I'd say, CD Sales, endorsements, movies, promotion appearances etc..
The AVERAGE rapper I would say makes about $700,000-1 million a year...u gotta remember that record companies take a big chunk out of their record sales

It depends. . . I'm sure Nas is making a hell of a lot more than Hurricane Chris. you have to think about things like Record sales along with Special appearences plus other investments like Vitamin water (50 cent) or Roca Wear(Jay-Z) ownerhip of reccord companies and movie deals modeling contracts ect. all that really starts to add up.

well if your taking in all rappers on the average, then, barely anything. most rappers are starving artists or have regular day jobs. .000001% of the rappers in the world are famous.
