Every week the Dead Americans are memorialized on the Sunday news shows. Ten one week, forty another, for them the violence is down. When will you Repug-licans wake up?

I think there is still violence however I dont believe that any war was with out violence. people seem to forget that this is a war and that people are going to be killed in war. I also remember a time that the country supported the president and his efforts to fight against terrorism, wasnt that why he was reelected. Anyways if the Dems are proven wrong by there being any kind of victory then they will not be able to face the american public and if the Reps are wrong then all of our soldiers died in vane. But I believe we needed to take out Sadam (you remember the one that was killing his own people and torturing them) now that he is gone there are a lot of other mad men that want to control the oil in IRAQ, for instance IRAN. So yes I believe there is a lot of violence over there but why do we think that there should not be when we are still in the middle of a on going WAR. And WHY do people want some time frame. No offense to anyone but you can not predict when we will WIN a war. There was NO time frame in WW1 or WW2 or the Civil War or any other war we have been a part of oh there was one the one we lost in VIETNAM. is that a coincidance that when we put artificial time frames on a war we lost what do you think will happen if we do that during this war.

You are right. Violence is down and the dems are hoping no one notices. If the secret comes out they will have to come up with a plan to either take credit for it OR find a way to boost up the violence again so they can go back to the ever popular Bush bashing.

If you get shot in the front of the head it doesn't count anymore, only if you get shot in the back of the head. Or is it the other way around. If we never started the war violence would have been zero. And we would have had a trillion dollars to help with education, national health insurance, etc.

Of course. Why do you think they brought up the Armenian thing? and then there was the plan to break up Iraq into 3 countries.

The Armenian genocide happened around 1918 with the Ottoman Empire. What other reason could there be to bring that up but to cause trouble/ war and more American soldiers to be killed.

I'm waiting for an answer Mr. Thumbs Down. I'd honestly like to think it was something else.

Our unit has guys going over there monthly and coming back off and on. I personally haven't been there for a while but from what we here from our guys the violence is down and even some of the local Sheiks are starting to work with us over there. Seems they're tired of being blown up by there own people... so the insurgents are running out of places to hide.

It always gets me rolling when these people who have never set foot out of there own town try to tell me how the war we are fighting is actually going cause they read some Time magazine article in there Eng 111 class.

I have heard many democrats and anti war protesters say that they do not want to see peace in Iraq. They have been cheering for defeat for years now.
From what Reuters reported it sure sounds like the violence and casualties are way down in October.

I'm sure they are. Once things start looking up for the war in Iraq they are going to be scrambling to find something that is going wrong. What else is new?
