if x= number of cars with 2 people
2x+4(10-x)=32
2x+40-4x=32
2x=8
x=4

If there are 4 cars with 2 people that is 8 people leaving 24 for the other six cars. That would be 4 each in all of them. No more can be had. Choice D.

The answer is D - 4

If 5 cars carry 2, that's 10 people and subtract that from 32, you need to carry 22 more people in the following 5 cars. 5 cars x 4 (the max in a car) is only 20 so you would be short 2.

4 x 2 = 8
32-8 = 24
24 people in 6 cars = 4 each car, which is also you max in a car so that works.

in simple terms write s/a million = m/3 = l/5 there's a property that enables us to characteristic the numerators and denominator... so we get: s/a million = m/3 = l/5 = (s+m+l)/(a million+3+5) or s/a million = m/3 = l/5 = 126/9 = 14 Now s/a million = 14 ==> s= 40 2 m/3 = 14 ==> m= 40 2 l/5 = 14 ==> l = 70

The answer would be D.
Because when you put 2 people in 4 cars that would be 8 people and you would be left with 24 people and 6 cars. You put 4 people in each car and you're clear.
