We shouldn't be taking any medicine's for colds whether we're breastfeeding or not. Medications only suppresses the cold making it take longer to get rid of.

i have a cold right now & i'm breastfeeding as well. i'm using vicks vapor rub. really helps with sore throats and i'm using halls. on the mend already. drinking lottsa' orange juice too.

Benadryl is safe, the pills... it will help you sleep. You can use cough drops.

Drink chicken soup, get lots of rest, drink lots of juice (orange juice if you like orange juice)- that will help you more than any other medicine.

what the 1st person said is right.
drink a lot of hot tea to clean out your system and make your body feel better. some people don't believe it but i do think that natural remedies work better than meds in some cases (like this one).

You can take painkillers like tylenol or ibuprofen, but avoid decongestants, like Sudafed, because they not only dry up your mucous, but they can also dry your milk.
