I guess you do or you wouldn't have asked. The end made me cry my eyes out. I still almost cry when I think about it. It does NOT have a happy ending... All those characters I loved so much... They all died. {{CRY}}
Sorry to break the horrible news.
My favorite anime series ever by the way.. I freaking loved it.
AHH, James is right, it did have the twist at the end where they did open Paradise.. I need to go rewatch the ending, I think the SHOCK of all these beautiful characters being slaughtered overrode my senses or something, I had forgotten that. It's been three years since I saw it. So it had a ROLLER COASTER ending.
If I remember correctly I was so pissed that I turned it off and me and my boyfriend freaked out for a while, and finished it later. I must have let the negative get stuck in my mind that way. Such a good series.
There was a site where I found a few episodes a while back that was in Japanese with English subtitles, I don't think it had all of them though.. and I can't remember where I found them anyway so what does it matter!

Yes, all the characters DID die... But then Kiba manages to open Paradise and then there's a weird time/space continuim thingy that happens and they're all reincarnated back to the time before they all met.
...And Kiba runs through a puddle and the credits roll. (Coolest ending ever. He's just walking, then jogging, then sprinting, then he runs through a puddle and then there's music and black and japanese credits... Ah, its great.)

I've seen the ending a loooong time ago..so i cant help you there.(but everyone else has answered your question anyway)
They all die... ;____;

But, Im re-watching it again(since i purchased it a while a go) because they're are some episodes i never saw.. :P

I was a little skeptical before..because i "KNEW" the ending was...really sad.. ;___;
Now that i have the boxset, i dont want to watch the ending...

yea...basically they all die, but Kiba, through dying, finds his paradise in the end.
