Automatic trans fluid wears out the same as engine oil, just not as fast. Most manufacturers say 25,000 miles or so for oil and filter on the autos. There is no drain plug as on an engine. That's because the filter is inside and the pan needs to be removed to replace it anyway. Easiest way is with the car on a rack and loosen all the bolts then start removing all except one corner. Have the old oil catch bucket under the opposite corner and just let it trickle out into the bucket. once it's nearly all gone take the rest of the bolts out. Clean the gasket surface of the trans and the pan real good and install a new gasket, after replacing the filter. For the price they charge, and the mess it is, the oil change places and or the dealer are really a bargain. Especially if you don't have a car hoist in your driveway or garage.

best to get it done at a chain transmission shop or dealers service dept.
they can back flush it to get all the crud out of the radiator & the extra 5 quarts or so in the lines & converter. they also adjust the bands in a mopar.
if you just drop the pan all you get is about 1/3 of the old fluid out the rest is still in the system.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean? Do you want to change you're oil or transmission fluid? Or both?
