Our house thermostat has four wires, and we just purchased a digital thermostat and it has only two wires coming out of the thermostat, how do I install this, is it possible ?

....what kind of heat, electric or oil, gas or hot water heat...since you said it was heat only it should only have two wires coming from the old one even if there is four wires in the cable.....did all four of the wires in the cable connect to the old thermostat

Return it; have wrong kind.
Need thermostat for heat AND cool.
