Yes. You should have a living will so that if you get sick or hurt, your loved ones know what you want to have happen and they are relieved of making a difficult decision.

Yes, they are very important. Almost any chaplain at any hospital will help you fill one out and notarize it for you. Give one to each of your doctors for their files. And, if you have a hospital that you go to, they will keep a copy on file for you. Your children, depending on their ages, should be given copies. An equally important document is a power of attorney. The same chaplain can help you with that one too.
