A Canvasser have been to my house when I werent there and left a note. are they likey to come again? I really dont like the idea of putting my name on that piece of paper, can i just not bother with it? (I am tempted to just dont answer the door again until the new year LoL) Does anyone know if that information will be use on tracing you on things like credit history, checking council tax, tv licence etc etc.. Thanks for any info you can give

Don't put it there. I did that once... I mean didn't fill it out. Do it in person.

.it will be in your best interests to co-operate with this requirement. It is the law All residents in the UK are subject to this,nothing dramatic about it,with regard to one other comment placed. the government have many ways of detailing you through driving licence, your Nat insurance number, etc I cannot see the freedom that is lost to an individual by this,

Yes and Yes. Yes they will come back (on average 3 calls are made to a property) amd yes they can trace you for bad debts through the electoral role xxx

Big Brother is watching you. You are required to register under penalty of law and that information can be used against your interest. The so-called British freedom is disappearing.

You are compelled by law to complete your Electral registration form - there is a very very hefty fine for not doing so (several thousand pounds from memory).
