However, I highly suggest that you do not use the element outside of a chemical lab since it is such a serious irritant to the skin and with its other properties which are dangerous if not used properly.

I'm not sure that there is a good answer to this question. Small quantities of reagent grade sulfur are not too expensive. If you just need a commercial grade of sulfur you might be able to get some at a garden center for a few dollars.
