Well Catch-22 by Joseph Heller might make you look at the world pessimistically but it will definataly make you feel better about yourself. After reading it you'll probably think to yourself,
"Man, I have it good.".

I would also try reading Finhorn Book Of Everyday Abundance by Karen Hood-Caddy. Good read indeed!
