Why do American women admire prostitutes and shave under their arms like the prostitutes? Prostitutes started-

the practice in America, so maybe American women admire that type of woman. It is clearly not a sanitary necessity, since men don't shave(and women wash there even if they shave).
Isn't it weird that only in the U.S. do women shave off their sexiest feature?

Because it has become such a norm in American culture that by the time you reach seventh grade you get horribly, horribly picked on if you don't shave your armpits and legs.

The practice of shaving underarms has nothing to do with prostitute envy. It is done to enhance their feminine appearance, especially considering the clothing they wear. I would not want to see a model in a nice dress, or anything that involves bare arms or the upper body and have her suddenly reveal hairy pits. The general perception of women is soft, sleek, and little or no body hair. This is not a U.S. only custom.
You may find pit hair desireable, and if so, then I am sure there are women who would indulge you. I, for one, will not request any woman to stop shaving.

wow.. you think underarm hair is sexy? well, me personally, even if NO ONE else shaved their underarm hair, i would, as i shave all hair on my body except the hair on my head. to me personally, body hair is effin disgusting... i dont think that american women are idolizing prostitutes, but if they are so what? prostitutes are people too... i happen to have worked in the industry in the past, however, i did not know that prostitutes were the ones to start the shaving of armpit hair, either way, i don't think there is anything wrong with shaving underarm hair, infact, i find it rather disgusting that some people dont.. oh, and for the record, some men do shave their underarm hair, straight, gay, and bi-men, its a personal preference. dont knock anyone for what they do.. just find you a woman who still lives in prehistoric times and doesnt shave anywhere if you are into women.. i have no idea what this has to do with lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgendered tho!!

american women don't admire prostitutes.. however they shave because they like the way it looks and feels.

actually, shaving started back in Egypt, where women started to do it to avoid lice and once people realized it also kept you from smelling badly they continued the practice. it only stopped when muslims started to control women and would not give them freedoms, so the women stopped washing and shaving to get even.

Ya, it is kinda weird. but people in some parts of Europe don't shave at all. i think that women should shave since then your armpits will get all gross and hairy, which is not sanitary, in my opinion.

Just because I shave under my arms does not mean I admire prostitutes. How do you come to that conclusion. It is like saying that all men who trims their nails are gay. Women do not find hairy arm pits a sexy feature.

It's actually an indigenous custom, picked up from the Native women in different areas. In my culture, body hair is considered nasty--only animals have hair on their bodies, not humans. Another of the customs that came from indigenous people is bathing every day---Europeans didn't think that was healthy, but when they came here, they found it worked out better, so they began doing that.
