The Democrats are playing it safe by adhering to the propositions of the Republicans so that when they grab power, they expect the Republicans not to oppose them.

If we changed all the members of the Democratic Party to lobotimized monkeys, than the Party IQ would rise sharply, and they might even have a chance of winning a Presidential election.
Think about this: George W. Bush was inarguably the most 'unpopular' President in 2004 when his re-election came around, and he defeated Kerry by an unquestionable margin. Now are the Democrats really so horrible that they can't beat a President that had the lowest approval rating of any re-elected President, or is everything they say about him a little on the exaggerated side?
Either way, the Democratic Party isn't lacking 'courage' as you suggest. They're lacking intelligence, values, rationality, patriotism, and sense, but not courage. They're certainly brave and mouthy load of idiots.

I take issue to your elect 'men' statement.
Seems to me we need to get rid of the men and elect all female Democrats.
The men are the ones not standing up to Bush. All female Democrats in Congress have voted with the resolutions to get the troops out of Iraq. Nancy Pelosi has been the loudest voice on this subject.
