My english teacher proofread my essay and she found that I had used the phrase "throughout history" twice. Can anyone suggest anouther phrase to use in its place, without using the words "through", "throughout" or "history"?
Thanks.

The sentence is:
Throughout history, there have been many tales of devoted females pining for the love of a disinterested man, and sometimes vise versa.
