I had a plumber come out and try to unclog those holes and the hole that lets water out of the basin, and it helped flush successfully for a while. But I still think maybe there is not enough water pressure coming into the basin. So I would at a minimum like to unclog those two holes and see if that helps. Is there something stronger (besides a plumber) than a hanger that would help me break up the clogged porcelain/enamel, whatever is clogging it and that will not break the toilet? Thanks!

NOTE: It's not a plunger problem. It's the tiny holes that allow water from the tank into the toilet.

use a plumbers snake. you rent one from the plumber. Most plumbers are reasonable if you tell them you can't always afford to hire a plumber. A plumber will rent you the snake especially if you used him or her in the past. Renting the plumberssnake is cheaper than hiring a plumber. You could buy a plumbers snake but that would cost you more than the cost of a plumber! A plumbers snake is a rigid but flexable steel or metal tube or rod that can go down. Sometimes it doesn't cause things to come up and you have to disconnect the pipes where things seem to be stuck. (Never small objects on the back of your toilet cause they could fall and clog your toilet!)
Never put thick oil or hard foods down the toilet it cam clog the toilet too! Best freeze that stuff and toss it out in the garbage! I am class D- plumber. Not acceptable for city and some organized country areas don't accept class D plumbers. Most such plumbers work in unorganized townships! They have to have another job or 2. Many are firemarshalls! I can't be that as I have asthma. Really not strong enough for plumbing anyway! I'm more a cook than anything else! I'm a Herbalist too!

You keep on monkeying around and you will bust the toilet. If after all you and the plumber have done, the thing still acts up, replacement is in order. I bought a new toilet for under a hundred bucks - one of the nice elongated bowls, too...and paid my plumber ninety bucks to install it for me. Problem solved. I saved a few bucks by hauling the old appliance to the town dump myself...

most toilets have a pipe that comes up from the floor on the pipe there should be a thing to turn the water presser up. turn it up full speed it will fill the tank up faster if you dont have one of those you may want to put draino in the top part of the tank, it would break up any clog.

If it's limescale that's clogging it up - Mr Muscle limescale remover is excellent!
