do not know your area but if you can find a ski place try snowboarding. that will keep you thin.

I think it is great that you are preparing for winter right now! - Team up with a friend and motivate each other to keep fit during the winter - Reward yourself with gifts when you keep your exercise schedule - Get yourself moving for the first five minutes and you will get motivated - Enroll in an indoor aerobics program in the local gym/YMCA - Plan out fun outdoor activities such as skiing, sledding - Get some sun time or go to well-lighted malls - Consider getting a pass to indoor heated pool - especially one with a whirlpool - Run in an indoor gym or go for brisk walks in your local gym with your favorite music or audio book Check out the websites below for more ideas. Good luck!

I know I live in MI and its always cold around that time. Here's what I do. I ride my stationary bike while looking at TV for 30 min. I use a exercise tape for 30/40 min. Also, I sometimes walk in the mall for about 1 hour or 45 min. Or just try to dance to 4 songs. It's fun to dance! This should help you and when all else fails just grab a friend to go shopping with and walk in the supermarket. And of course, enjoy the winter with a hot cup of Cinnamon tea. Low calories and satisfying.

I have been waiting for the cool down. Living in sweltering heat in Texas makes it impossible to walk outside for long. I think that the problem is you have to bundle up to get to the gym undress into your workout clothes and come back home bundled again. Think about this as your best defense against a flabby unhealthy old age. Make it one of the most looked forward to events in your life. Dance roller skate cross country ski, movement in the gym or on a hillside, just get er done.

I have a gym at home, last winter I was so cold that the idea to warm up was motivating enough to make me jump on the cross trainer. The summer was really lazy until I got a trainer to work with me in the pool...I always play tricks on myself to get out or working out, but on the other hand I catch myself and do something motivating.

I finally brought my Exercycle upstairs from the cellar. when I can't walk- here it gets too windy AND snow- I'll hop on the bike and crank up some tunes. If you have stairs in your house- climb them it is great for your heart and legs. If you live near a mall don't take your wallet but walk for 30 minutes. The air is bad so freshen your lungs in the parking lot on your way back to the car. Good luck- long winter ahead.

winter is such a drag when i'm exercising cuz i get that sluggish feeling too.. but! when you exercise in cold weather it's refreshing. just bundle up a bit more than u would in summer/spring/fall and put on some great pump up music!

it is very difficult because i, like you, enjoy exercising outdoors and when it is cold and it gets dark early i have trouble finding my motivation. i also tend to want to stay home more and when i stay home more, i tend to snack more and especially late at night... sooooo i am aware that this is a danger zone for me so I use that to stay motivated. I go to the gym usually right after work and look at it like it is my "unwind time" to go from my work time to personal time. It's all what you TELL YOURSELF really that will help motivate you.. GOOD LUCK TO BOTH OF US!! :)

Winter is a good time to be in a gym.
Usually only hard core bodybuilders are there.
There is no waiting for machines & because it's colder, you never feel over heated.

Soon as I get home I change into my work out clothes and put on my tennis shoes. It is hard to lounge around with that on. I have a tread mill that I use.
