I am married and pregnant so I am not asking if it is alright if I can sleep around. I heard that unprotected sex during pregnancy can induce labor, which I don't want since I am only 28 weeks along. Does he need to avoid ejaculating in me or are we safe?

I kept forgetting to ask my Dr. but I have an appointment on Monday and a reminder set in my cell phone so I ask this time.

It doesnt induce labor, it causes mild contractions. For women who are near labor those mild contractions can be enough to stimulate real labor. However is will NOT cause preterm labor unless you have cervix issues- which you would know already after your first exam.

Its perfectly safe. Its good for everyone- including baby- who gets to share your endorphie rush.

No worries. When your body is gearing up for labor there are hormones in sperm that will help it along but if your cervix isn't ready for labor and delivery then no amount of sperm on it will trigger labor. You go ahead and have as much fun as you want while the getting is good. You're not going to want to be active too much longer!

you can have unprotected sex during pregnancy. i read at babycenter.com that having sex during pregnancy is actually a good thing. as far as inducing labor it is an old wives tale. that baby is going to come when it wants too. just don't have rough sex.

Have you talked to your OB about this?????
It should be safe to have sex with your husband until you are at least 35 weeks and then ask your OB when he feels you should discontinue...he will say probably when you feel uncomfortable.....
Ejaculation is not what would cause contractions anyway... relax...and call ask a nurse to get a professional answer...but they are going to reiterate what I just told you.

You are already pregnant you don't have to worried about getting pregnant again... the only thing you do have to worried about with unprotected sex (at any time) is STI's.

as long as your cervix is still completely closed and firm, your fine as you get further along and your cervix starts to soften, your Dr. will probably recommend sex, b/c semen helps the softening along, to induce natural labor.
