Although the national generic standard is 16, you may be able to obtain a work permit from your local job service agency that will allow 14 and 15 year olds to work limited hours.
Don't expect a fantastic job at this age (just being honest) You may be able to get a restaurant or retail job.
Good Luck!!!

you can get a job at 14.. I dont know where these kids got the idea you have to be 16.. I am 21 and wanted a job at 14 i asked my mom if a 14 yr old could work she said yes and then i wanted to work but she wouldnt let me yes you are allowed to work at 14.. You have to be 16 to be a cashier tho. Or they wont let u handle money. and if you work in the grocery department you have to be 18 to handle the trash. You have to be 18 to work in the deli and you have to be 18 to work in the meat department but you can be a bagger at 14, but you need a work permit from your school.

Go to a small mom and pop place. They will pay you to do stuff. Back in the day, I bagged ice for a gas station just for gas, candy, cokes and a bit-o-cash.

You could start doing your own work; mowing lawns, or something along those lines. The legal age for work is 16.
