I recently lost 45 pounds in a weight loss contest at work. I won by the way. I don't think I've changed but my husband is now avoiding me. I thought me looking better would make our relationship better. But, as I wrote earlier he seems to be keeping his distance from me.

Men are strange that way but so are women whose husbands have lost a lot of weight and they haven't. It comes across as a threat which is really unfortunate. Spouses with low self esteem have difficulty and feel threathened in their relationship when their significant others are in better shape. You have to work to make sure your husband knows you still feel the same about him as you did when you were heavier. That may or may not change his attitude if he wants to continue to feel threatened but it's worth the try. You are healthier and maybe you can help him be as well. Make it a joint effort and include him in your new lifestyle.

Losing weight doesn't happen overnight - is it possible that over the last few weeks you've been concentrating on your diet, being busy and being grumpy? If so, he may be a little spooked of you right now.

First of all...congrats! That's great! The fact that you are looking even more fabulous may have him feeling a little uneasy inside...and we all know men never want to admit! lol...Taking time out to work out together (maybe at the gym, or at a local track) may help with things.....

He is insecure because you lost weight. He may think you will want a different man now. Congratulations on the weight loss!

Strange. I'd think it would be opposite. Maybe he doesn't want to have sex and deal with it now he has no excuse or he feels insecure. Ask him to get some counselling.

Maybe your husband thinks that you look way better than he does and feels like he is now "out of your league". Or it just makes him feel self conscious about his own body. Especially if he is a little overweight and now you are not.

sweetie your husband loved you more with the 45 pounds. you need to talk to him and explain to him that you needed to be healthy and the weight loss will assist in that. apparently he likes a bigger you and now you are unattractive to him. dont gain the weight back he just need to figure out a way to deal with the weight loss. and maybe you both should go to counseling. Tell him you are lonely and in need of some loving. He sounds insecure, like he is waiting to be rejected and preventing it by staying clear. Silly man. Go love him up. Talk it out. Tell him what you need and see if he is proud of you and finds you hot. I bet he does.
