Didn't see ONE second of coverage on any News Channel. They are gutless corporate stooges, who got us into the bloodbath and virtual genocide of a country and then ignore any protest about it.

The fact of the matter is, we have the right to protest. We can protest and usually do, anything! Why, for various reasons. Some real, some not so real. Perception is the key here, the inability to observe both sides of an issue. Instead of doing that, people only hear what they want to hear and react to what they want to react to. Much like we do in this forum. Some of us answer questions that try to help others understand something that's going on in their life, their world, if you will.
Some spend time acting as instigators, trying to rile up the rest of the folks that are drawn to this kind of stuff.
Some, even report answers that go against the grain. Maliciously taking ones thoughts out of the mix.
You see, there are many ways to protest and lots of venues to protest in. This should not be one of them.
Finally, in summation, the war in which we fight is against a belief, one which threatens our very existence. Please understand that we, as a nation, will never be the same as we were prior to 9/11. Our world is under attack, from without and within. Those that are within are feeding into the rhetoric that is the propaganda of the left, it will annihilate us. Make no mistake about it. If this continues in the path that it is going, we will all perish.

There were anti-war potests today? Wow. Well I'm sure they will be very effective. I've actually been to one before and I found it to be a bit disturbing. A lot of self-righteous young poeple dancing and chanting as if it were all a fun game or a parade. I imagine the protests in Iraq are far more somber if not any less effective.

The problem with the anti-war protests is that most of them are unrealistic. People in positions of responsibility, even in Washington, have to give at least a nod towards reality from time to time. If you asked Mr. Man on the Street "Should the US withdraw all its troops from Iraq in the next two months?" a substantial number would answer in the affirmative, not having to deal with the impossibility of the task. As things are, if our leadership were to decide on the quickest possible withdrawal with minimization of casualties, it would look not very different from what we have now. As a matter of fact, one of the lessons re-learned in Somalia was that active patrols lead to fewer casualties than withdrawing into enclaves, so the problems are much more complex than most of us imagine.

It probably won't make any difference but people have GOT to exercise their democratic right to protest and get out there and show the government how they feel. Otherwise governments will assume voters are apathetic or approve of what they are doing, and they will use this as vindication of their actions. At least if there are big public protests, the governments can't claim all of the public is on their side.
And at least protesters in America don't run the risk of getting shot, gassed or carried away to prison and "disappearing", like in Burma and many other countries. Much as Bush and his mates would doubtless love this to happen, they have to at least pay lip service to democracy.

Name one anti war protest in the world that have changed a singe thing. Same thing happened with the anti bomb group. We still have the bomb. Protests against any event hardly ever change anything. Regretfully sometimes.

I was appalled to read from one of the answers that there was no coverage of the protests.Fine then, switch of your televisions. When their ratings fall drastically they'll start paying attention.
I feel all protests are falling on deaf ears anyway,a new war is on the way.Israel now owns America and it is for its sake that Americans must now send more brave young men to fight.Iran is no threat to America. Is Israel's claim to a God given right (as they think)to own Palestinian land a good enough reason for young Americans to make the ultimate sacrifice?

I think local businesses will do well thanks to the influx of hungry people needing rooms and transportation.
The lack of coverage shows that the leftist media is affraid to show how small the protests were.

No they won't. Our legislators are now telling us what we want and they pay no attention when we say something different.
