micrphone sensitivity?

Question

i have a headset that plugs into the back of my computer (into the line in/mic in slot and the headphone jack in the back)

i cant seem to figure out why the sensitivity is so low
i truly dont care if the quality becomes terrible
i just want people to hear me
and since i use it for talking to people online and the occasional online gaming i need it

so,
can someone PLEASE tell me why the sensitivity is so low and how to fix it

Sound and Audio

Audio (tab at the top)

Under Sound Recording, select Volume

Set it according to your needs.....:)
