The rest of the country doesn't know Guliani as well as New Yorkers. He was not popular and not liked at all here. When 9/11 hit, for me he was the only person on TV from the government to take charge and at least give a news briefing. But again, the way he handled things grated on people, the new york city firemen and maybe police dont like him at all.
He was a great prosecuter against wall street crooks and the mafia. He straitened out New York, it was a mess after Dinkins, he took away lots of crime. But he did some bad things to protesters while Mayor. He is competent and can represent this country as president, but he does grate on people.

How would you like to have to explain how you do your job to someone who obviously has a negative opinion of the work you do? How would you like someone to bring forward "evidence" as if you are on trial and have to respond to them in a coherent way when you don't have access to the same information? He was blindsided and the guy "asking a question" deserved to be taken out of the meeting. I'm not saying there is not free speech, but the man was making potentially slanderous comments. If the man had said anything further and he was proven wrong by unbiased evidence, do you think it would fix the damage it had already done? NO. So, he just wasn't letting someone make an attack on his policies using information that could very well be tainted. How would you like to be put on trial to explain something when that person has "facts" that aren't true? Have you ever been accused of doing something you didn't do? Have you ever been punished for doing something you didn't do because you couldn't respond to the outrageous statements made against you? I have. I was sexually assaulted by a boy when I was younger. He was "disturbed" and was staying with my guidance counselor, who lived in my neighborhood. I was a good kid. I avoided trouble all the time because I was walking on eggshells at home. Any kid who lives in an environment where you take one wrong step and you get your head beat in is going to do their best not to stand out at school. So this kid gets mad at me for no reason, chases me down and strips me of my clothes. So, I go to get the clothes later after my friend loaned me some of her clothes. My friend's parents called the guidance counselor and she said she had the clothes and I could come get them. The moment I was being handed the clothes BY MY GUIDANCE COUNSELOR, she jerked them out of my reach and told me to "apologize". Apologize for WHAT?? I didn't do anything. You said "Dookey ball". "My son had never heard that word 'til you said it". I'd never heard it till SHE said it. WTF?? But, when being attacked in an unreasonable way will only lead to confusion on your part. Wouldn't you rather be treated fairly and have things that you supposedly did revealed in the proper forum when you have a chance to defend yourself adequately?? People bringing charges against you in a public forum would make anyone anxious and too upset to defend themselves. So, all he was doing was telling this nut who decided that he needed to bring accusations against him that it wasn't the proper place or time. That he doesn't respond to charges or allegations of corruption in a public forum like that. You should know better than to think that some nut standing up in a crowd and bringing angry accusations is being 100% truthful. Even if he were bringing 100% truthful accusations, his actions were inappropriate and he got called on it. If you have a complaint, there are proper channels. You don't ambush someone in public. Especially not when you are accusing them of a crime. That wasn't the proper venue.

What I find interesting is that Giuliani is pretending to be a Democrat while Hillary is pretending to be a Republican.
