It's amazing how ignorant some people are, isn't it? Not every war is winnable. Not every problem has a solution. If our political leaders throw us into a place like Iraq, where there's no such thing as "winning," who do we blame? The president who put us there, the military who did the best they could, or those with the sense to know a mistake when they see it?

You see a lot of responses that say something along the lines of "we'll keep fighting until we win." It's possible for us to fight and lose. Especially when we have no idea what the heck "victory" means. Kill all of the "bad people"? We don't even know who that is!

And I especially love the troglodytes who refuse to learn the lessons of Vietnam. We murdered a couple of million Vietnamese civilians in the course of executing a war against the popular Viet Cong to support the deeply unpopular South Vietnamese government. We didn't lose because of commies, or liberals, or any such nonsense. We lost because a foreign invader can't win in a fight against dedicated national resistance that's willing to completely sacrifice itself to achieve its goals. It doesn't matter if the opponents are commies, or Muslims, or whatever. Some games you only win by not playing.

Obviously our leaders in government don't think there is such a thing as enough. Just look up the history of the wars the United States has been in the last hundred years and you'll soon see what I mean.
I guess this is so the newpapers always have something to write about, and our elected officials have an excuse to raid and squander our social security funds to pay for these stupid wars.

We can never get enough war. It looks kind of cool on TV, it means that our rich friends who own shares in armaments companies will continue to fund our political careers, and most importantly of all it keeps up the general cull of the most physically courageous and patriotic of the working classes, who otherwise might realise what we're up to and rise up against us.

Well, I guess you don't care about your children's children having any kind of future with the terrorists running around rampant in this world...blowing their heads up to kill innocent people. To what? Please their , "Alla?" The war is to be rid of the evil that still exists all over this world. The reality is, they are going to win this war, if we don't retaliate now. Our nation is under serious attack!!! Get a grip! What are we doing? We are saving our lives, our future! Have you thought about that? There is a serious THREAT to our nation...isn't it OBVIOUS? Or do you enjoy living in a DREAM world? Remember these names, Al quaida and Taliban, are the terrorist groups, Osama Bin Laden, Musharaaf, are just two of their leaders, Pakistan, Iraq, Afghanistan are just a few of their countries!!!!! No it is not CHEAP to save our country...but, when our future is at stake, it is worth BILLIONS of dollors, unless you want it to cost BILLIONS of American lives instead! Remember with more FREEDOM, comes more responsibilities. President Bush and his Military advisors are making the right decisions. It's up to you to make your choice. Make the right one! I have.

I don't know. Ask that to the vets of WWI and WWII. She would have not fought then because the wars took so long? What about the first Gulf War, should we just have held back and let Saddam destroy and rape a country and hold the world hostage with oil? War is the way of the world, deal with it.

The war in Iraq is over and when innocent lives in Iraq are no longer in jeopardy, the battle for long-lasting peace will cease.

You commys need to look back at how you ran the Vietnam war and learn a bunch of lessons. Time is not the first priority. Taking out the enemy and not losing soldiers. We are winning and you commucrats will pay for your unpatriotic stand against our military come Nov of '08. You commys killed 58,226 of our troops in Vietnam and handed a loss to out nation. Just stay out of the war business and let the real men fight.

Enough to get the job done. If you are not fighting or willing to fight there is always someone else that is and will. As much as we do not like it, that's the human race century after century.

Terrorism is like gang violence. These people are not going stop until you overwhelm them with as much force as needed. They will, have and continue to take every inch we give them. You can't give an inch......
