I'm 9 weeks with twins, and recently I've been getting terrible sick during the night. I'm usually fine during the day except here and there I get nauseous or a headache, however for the past week or so I haven't been able to get any sleep! As soon as I lay down I get terribly nauseous... like almost this seasick feeling.. and It doesn't go away for hours! I've been ending up having "slumber parties" on the bathroom floor, and throwing up all night. I've tried not eating anything before bed, but then I just end up gaging and a green substances always comes up. This is my first pregnancy, and I don't know what to do about it! I have an appointment with my regular doctor on Wednesday, and so I didn't call all week because I thought it would go away, and I was seeing him then anyways... but it hasn't. Has anybody else experienced this? Any advice would be helpful.

I had nine months of sickness. I was the worst first half of the pregnancy and then it got a better half way through. You might try
1. drinking your nutrients- smoothies etc.
2. drinking ginger ale- the real stuff- many brands of ginger ale don't have ginger actually in them so look at the label
3. Try to figure out if you have food triggers- I threw up everything at one point or another but some foods always made me throw up and others it was less likely

Good luck and take care. I hope the sickness ends soon for you

I had terrible morning sickness with my daughter.

I found that eating every four hours helped, as did ginger biscuits - they didn't feel so bad coming up either!

You kind of get used to it - and you'll probably find that it's all a bad memory after 12 weeks. Fingers crossed for you! Do mention it to your doctor.

My mom had a similar reaction with my brother. She put crackers under her tongue. If you have low blood-pressure try eating salt. If your blood-pressure is high, I don't know what to tell you!

Other people I know have tried:

1) Eat several small meals throughout the day. It helps regulate the blood sugar.

2) Try the preggie pops.

3) Ginger anything (ale, pops, tea, etc.)

My step mom went through this. My dad always worked out of town so I was the one who had to take care of her. I made sure she had lots of Gatorade to stay hydrated, and made toast for her. Also, tried to give her some saltines. She suffered a lot, I'm not going to tell you that you will have an easy solution.

I just had my fourth child almost 2 weeks ago and this is what helped me..... DRAMAMINE and MECLIZINE (meclizine is also in the non-drowzy dramamine), my dr. recommended I try either/or and they did wonders ! I prefer meclizine b/c it doesn't make you so sleepy. As far as saltine crackers... they only helped me if I was ONLY nauseous and not on the verge of throwing up.

You can find meclizine in the same section as dramamine at any pharmacy and even wal-mart.

I threw up everyday, morning, noon, night and all in between when i was pregnant with my one and only child. Nothing helped me. I threw up from the time i was 2 months til the day i had him at 35 weeks.
No medicine helped me or anything. Sometimes you just have to deal with it.

I would definitely eat something filling before bed as long as that doesn't give you heartburn. You may not be eating enough at dinner time. Remember, you're eating for 3 now. :)

Also, ask your doctor. He may be able to give you something for nausea or change your vitamin to one that helps with nausea. Good luck!!
