Is he a good comedic actor? Opinions?

He is enormously gifted. DVDs of "The Office" have extensive outtakes wherein he's improvising, and they're hysterically funny.
The man truly serves the writing. On "The Office," his character is written to be an utter dolt, and Carrell's deadpan earnest readings make the comedy shine. There's a very old saying about playing comedy -- your character should never know that he's in a comedy. [This is why Jim Carrey is painfully unfunny.]

I like him, watch Bruce Almighty when Jim Carey messes with him, that was great. He was also good in Anchorman. I haven't seen Evan Almighty yet, I heard it had mixed reviews.
