ok. This is a FOIL type question. First break it into two equations. Look at the second operation, if it is a plus, then both sets are add.
1. (x+_) + (x+_) = 0
Ylou have two "x's" because it is squared.
2. the two numbers needed are found out by multiplying to get second number in your equation (16) and are also used to either add/subtract to get 6.
(x+8) + (x+2) = 0. Once that is done, plug numbers into x so that the problem equals 0.
So x = -8, x= -2.
Hope this helped.

Plug it into the quadratic formula:
X (0)= negative B (6) plus or minus the square root of the discriminant (B squared (6^2 or 36) minus 4AC (4*1*16, or 64) OVER 2A (1*2 or 2).
OR
find the factors of 16 that when subtracted, will equal positive 6.
The answer: (x+8)(x+2)=0
which leads to: X=-8 or -2

i think its suppose to be x^2+6x-16=0
then you'd get (x+8)(x-2)=0
(x+8)(x-2)=
x=-8 x=2
x={-8,2}

I don't remember how to do this, but I don't see how any of the answers on here are right. I can't think of any way this can be solved. Maybe you typed it wrong.
