Is Pheonix a good boy name? As in the mythical bird, that was immortal and invincible. It was also a symbol for Christ's resurrection. It was also known to Egyptians as the rising sun. Whats your opinion on the name?

No need for an explanation. It's a fairly popular, and very trendy, choice. If it were actually uncommon, I could appreciate it, but it generally seems to be the exact name chosen by parents who THINK it unusual ... only they're all latching onto this same name! Too overdone for my taste, to be quite honest.

People will misspell it, as you did in your own post. I think it's better as a middle name. So many babies are being given somewhat off the wall names, that I believe it's going to be a huge asset to people 20 years from now to have a "normal" name, especially guys. It is cool and I can see why you like it, but if you want to go for it, try a "regular", almost formal name, like James, Christopher or Alexander, for a first name, and Phoenix for the middle. Then it will be an interesting talking point later on.

I don't know about it being a symbol for Christ's resurrection, but if so, Phoenix is a great name. But you're going to have to come up with a like name to match. No regular English name is going to do. Phoenix Rafael?

I'm not too fond of it so recommend it for a middle name:

Joseph Pheonix
Matthew Pheonix
Spencer Pheonix
Jonathan Pheonix
Thomas Pheonix

The name is spelled Phoenix and not Pheonix. If, you are going to use such great name, spell it correctly for goodness sakes! I prefer it as a boy's name. It reminds me of my all time favorite actor, River Phoenix. His family adopted their surname after they moved and needed a name representing rebirth or renewal.

You could try:

Phoenix Joaquin
Phoenix Christian
Phoenix Dakota

I like all the meanings with it. But it's toooo much for a person to carry that name I think. It's too mythical if you know what I mean. I wouldn't name my baby phoenix.

It's a cool name. I think it would make a better middle name for a boy. Like Jason Phoenix or Ryder Phoenix!
