I love it!! and when I see that someone answered honestly or answered correctly, I makes me happy for the asker and I give them both stars also It's nice to know that your actually helping people when you give them thumbs up and stars,

I give stars if the question is good and makes me think.
I give thumbs up if the persons answer to the question is good or funny according to the subject.
I give thumbs down if I think the person is just being plain out rude or stupid.
