I'm happy with AVG antivirus, but AVG antispyware not so sure. I run a check just before i log off ( check for spyware) and there is always something to be deleted.
I think i need a good firwall, really don't like firwalls, but atleast it will stop the spyware getting on my laptop.
I want to delete the current AVG antivirus and download AVG antivirus and firwall and keep the AVG antispyware.
Just want your opinion on that. Or can you recommend anything better?
Thanks so much!

I have both as well... and Grisoft makes a decent product... for being free...

I would recommend to you that you get SpyBot Search and Destroy. It would appear to be the best out there.. and it has been for quite some some.

Some people also use AdAware SE Personal Edition from Lavasoft as well... it is also an excellent anti-adware program that is free...

Well you're not going to like my suggestion at all.

If you follow your plan, you'll be buying the AVG security suite or whatever they call it, and the only good part about it (IMO) is the AVG antispyware.
AVG antivirus is nearly obsolete compared to Avast and Avira, and the (free) Comodo Firewall Pro is the best firewall available. (And nobody would advise you to run without a firewall.)

So even though I probably can't talk you out of your AVG antivirus, I'll give you a link to the best firewall anyhow:

Antivirus: Antivir PE or Avast

Antispyware: Superantispyware, A-Squared, Spyware Terminator

Firewall: Comodo or PcTools

AVG will always find cookies after surfing, unless they are red ones showing, wouldnt worry too much, you could try Spybot SD
The new version 1.51 has immu built in so can provide a bit more protection.

ADDED
To Mot : I like Kaspersky-IS too, but not after I found out this software eat through disk space like nothing else, after 4 weeks, the software chew up almost 3GB of space for the scan results, database, and its update files, I removed it after getting no help from the maker.

AVG firewall is good but windows also has a firewall built into the security system BUT thats not as good. Stick with the AVG one.

You really shouldn't need anything more than AVG antivirus and Windows firewall. You may have an infection that has a good hold on your computer and is downloading more stuff.

If you want, come to my site and I'll see if I can help you clean it up.
