Definetly :setting tables, Serving drinks, taking orders, continually checking on your tables, giving the check (always ask about dessert/coffee) cleaning tables and shift cleaning

There are tons of duties besides the obvious in most restaurants. It depends on the manager/owner as said above. Some duties not mentioned may be :
wrapping silverware, cleaning wait areas, cutting lemons, and prepping other drink garnishments, other prep work for the kitchen, cleaning the place at the end of the night, vacuuming, etc. and various other things.
So to the person who asked if she was thick, I bet you are a poor tipper seeing as you think it doesn't take much to wait tables.

i am a waitress and of course my first duty(as u call it) is my customers making sure they are happy and don't need for anything second is to maintain a perfect dining room and perfect food presentation make sure all drinks are refilled and service is with a smile
