Our "reasons for not being married" is that we're gay and are thereby prevented from civil marriage, a right extended to SOME tax-paying citizens but not ALL tax-paying citizens.

Allowing us the same basic rights as others evidently would miraculously cause the marriage licenses of heterosexual couples to explode in a torrent of fire and brimstone. Or at least that's what I presume would happen, since homophobic lawmakers always yammer about how allowing gay people to get hitched would "destroy the institution of marriage." As is, I guess the state of marriage is being nicely supported by oft-married politicians and drunken celebrities who get hitched in Vegas and then laugh their way to divorce court the next week. Ah, the sanctity of marriage!

Frankly, since I'm precluded from participating in all things that other citizens can, my tax liability should be reduced. But it's not, so this is a patently unfair discriminatory practice.

Been with my bf for 4 years. I've been married before and am not interested in it at this time. We don't live together either, we both like our freedom, and we would just get on each others' nerves because we have different ideas of what we like to do when we're relaxing at home. It's good the way it is, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I haven't dated anyone for more than three months. I don't want to get married because divorce is so prevalent now. I'd rather have a live-in boyfriend.
