When my home was built, they scraped the top soil off to level the yard and I have never been able to grow grass there at all. Just wondering if there is any kind of seed I could use to make grass take hold there without adding more soil back. Most of yard is fine but this is looking bad and it's been three years like this now. I am wanting to sell soon so need to do something.

you definately need topsoil for grass.... I'd get a truckload of topsoil, and if I wanted grass fast, I'd sod the yard... having a good looking lawn will make the house sell faster, and you'll make the money back, and then some.
