Perhaps but I believe strains of weed are a lot stronger and higher in thc nowadays than yesteryear so that maybe answers the question

Well it could be since if you think about it. If they associated everything they knew with some god and took their philosophy after visualisations, that would make sense.
From the other point of view, Olympian gods were objects in space (planets, nebulae etc).
