Are guys as afraid as girls and how do they keep it together when fearful, how could they be that good at keeping it inside? For instance if you are in a scary situation like a guy with a knife or chainsaw is coming after you. The girl screams or runs the guy just walks normal or he protects you. Does he feel fear and how does he hide his fear so well?

Well as a guy i can say that i personally am more scared of a girl than i am a guy with a gun. Most guys just want to be tough, so someone trying to attack them is a chance for a guy to prove himself, and no guy wants to back down from that.

But at the same time, all the toughness in the world can't tell a guy what to say to a girl. So rejection is probably the scariest thing for a guy, but he doesn't want to show it, because he doesn't want to look weak. Most guys are terrified when they like a girl, terrified she won't like him back. The only exception is when the guy asks girls out all the time, it's not scary anymore because he's experienced it all the time.

The reason we can hide it so well is because we don't want to look weak, because if we look weak we might be rejected, and that's scarier than being stabbed. ^^

we're all born with the same emotions, well at least most of us, and fear is one of them, so most i'd say it's instinctive, the rest is a learned behavior. That's why there's a difference in people not strickly men and women, most women can't take a fish off the hook or put a worm on, most of my life the men around me, and some of them pretty "big mothers", have come to me to remove spiders. But many women handle it as well as a guy, and sorry, but many a man, has run, out of fear and left women behind, this is refered to as Panic. Forget the movies, even the truth to the Titanic, original documentation, shows some men pushed everyone aside to save themselves. It is part of the instinct of survival. One never knows how they will react when panic takes over, untill it does, and anyone who says different is full of crap, unless he's been through it. Why is it most men, can't clean up their own kids puke without gaging and getting sick themselves?, mothers do it all the time. Many women have been raised with squeemish mothers, who were traditionally taught that women must react a certain way, especially to catch a man. This has changed quite a bit in the last few generations, for a lot of us. Although there are still those women who teach their daughters to be girly, girls, but this damage is for the sake of men. That's why they scream and act helpless, do you realy believe they were born totally without the human instinct of survival, if so then they were born with none at all and that does not make for a very long life. You've either been watching to much Tv or living in a in a bubble. Ever heard of women... boxers, weightlifters, cops, hunters, soldiers, miners, wreckers, bodyguards, etc. and as far as a guy with a chainsaw or knife coming after you, even women carry guns these days, just not in your choice of movies

They feel fear just as much as we do. Some even scream like a girl before running away.

When it comes to being faced with a gun or attacked with a chainsaw, a man is not going to be any less scared than a woman. Sorry, that's nonsense.

If a guy feels he can potentially overpower the attacker, then he might be more inclined to fight back. If the woman knows she can't win, then she runs. A man would run too if he knew he could not overpower the attacker. He's not "braver" it's just a matter of knowing your own physical capability.

Everyone is afraid-it's IMO imposible not to be,it's like not feeling pain. But that doesn't mean you can't hide it.Men get scared or atleast I do and I have seen girls that have more courage then me but in general males don't tend to scare so easily-the reason is testosterone not only does it give you confidence by boosting your strenght but it also increase the adrenaln rush and agresion.

I think you will find that some guys will scream and run also. And not all girls would run. I think it depends on the girl and the guy. But guys are not as emotion as girls but scared--yes, I think they are very scared but just don't show it.
