A good question! As you have seen questions that make sense are getting stars. What you need to get a star:
1.Ask a question that people also know
2.Add details People want to know the details!
3.Don't add long details People will get bored and not read it.

You need to ask an inane silly question, that's gets lots of stars. You will also notice that the answers get very few thumbs up or downs. Just like the question you have asked here. You wil get lots of stars
However, the more intelligent questions get very few stars but the answers get lot of thumbs up and thumbs down.
This is just an observation that is correct. Just look to see for yourself. I am not making a judgement, just telling you how it is reality. The reality is not my fault or my doing.

Just think up a general topic that interests a lot of people. Or pick something you genuinely want to have information to.
