It may be sciatica. It always got me in the kidney area. It's the bones moving and trapping nerves. It can get very intense and can cause pain or coldness down one or both legs too. My symptoms used to be the back pain and cold in the front of my ankles and feet.
Get it checked out by a doctor as if you do have a kidney infection, you need to get that sorted. Drink barley water and cranberry until you can get there.
Kneading your back might help, aswell as hot water bottles. It's trial and error.

being pregnant will put alot of weight on your back since its your stomach carrying the weight. so you will have pain in your kidneys, your spine, and other places..but its just the pregnancy. my mom has the same pain but she has had 3 other kids and knows its nothing. just sit and relax

Every time I've had a lot of back pain during my pregnancy it's been a urinary tract infection which can be treated with antibiotics. Drink lots of water and see your doctor soon!

how far are you? does if feel like menstral cramps? If so call your dr.! better to be safe than sorry

I had heard many people talk about being pregnant in their back, I thought it was a figure of speech..huh! With my daughter it felt just like she was in my back!

when she was born..via c-section..she came out doing a split. she look like a baby doll with its legs straight out to either side...

I was five months pregnant having to sit down in a rolling chair just to sweep and mop my kitchen floor..lol

and like someone said..it can cause siatica(numbness and tingling)...it did in me..

Its not uncommon to get kidney stones when your pregnant either...my sister did.

My first pregnancy was a piece of cake...I always thought women who were pregnant and needy were just taking advantage of being pregnant..I ATE MY WORDS!!!
