I learned the touch method in high school, and I type about 65 w.p.m. without looking at the keyboard.
I learned to type and did all my college papers years before the wordprocessor or P.C.s were invented.
In high school, all the typewriters were manual Smith/Coronas or Olivettis. There were no electric type-writers in my school.
