I can shoot the ball with both hands my right is stronger than my left and I am left handed am I considered an "ambi" bball player? How many ambi. bball players are there? Is it common?

In order to play basketball you need to be GREAT with both hands, You must not let defenders know your weakness. The easiest way to defend someone is to know what they cant do. If you cant use ur left hand then you've just made guarding you 90 times easier. You must be good with both hands.

Practically every good player has to have some ability with the off hand. Magic Johnson tells the story that at his first freshman practice, the coach announced that anyone who couldn't make a lay-up with the off hand was cut from the team -- no matter what.

Sounds like your skill might be a little better than that, though. It's not too common, and can only help you.

Many top NBA stars are virtually ambidexterious players, through hard work (not naturally).

Although it is common at that pro level, ambidexterious players are rarely seen on college teams!

If you can shoot the ball with both hands, you will be more valued!
