this past summer Michigan had over 20,000 acres burned and it wasn't on the news everynight. It happens in CA where those movie stars live and it's covered 24-7. And what about people wanting to donote free hotel rooms to those millionaires in need? I am sure they have another gigantic home someplace else to go to.

haven't you learned by now? Celebrities are more important than you and me and one of their lives is worth more than 50 of ours.

Hundreds of thousands of people have been evacuated from their homes because of these fires. In my mind, that's a pretty big story. We're talking some big cities here; if Detroit's area had fires I'm sure it would get the same coverage.

And, do you really think everyone in California is rich? The burning of nice homes makes for interesting TV and probably is covered a bit disproportionately, but it's the poor that are suffering the most because of all this ... and there are plenty of those.

with all my sympathy to the victims who weren't rich, I think the media has made this event too over the top as usual. I agree about the movie stars and how the rich always get better coverage which is so unfair. Who cares if thier homes were worth over 2million dollars, they can easily buy another one while others can barely buy a home period! And how dare they compare this to hurricane katrina. what a disgrace the media is! And they are also so unsensitive!
