or treat that you gave or parents gave to the lil trick or treaters
and sometimes big ones too?
one year my mom gave ice pops/popsicles
store bought not home made
kids that left from our house were telling other kids
what we were giving out.
bad move.....the next day there were popsicle wrappers/sticks
up and down our street. so we went around and picked it up
cause everyone knew where the popsicles came from

I love Reese's Peanut Butter Cups!
What I give away, though, is all the freebie stuff I collect throughout the year ... pencils, rulers, keychains, bookmarks, little notepads, fast food toys, etc. I started this a number of years ago when parents were freaked out by the idea there might be needles or razor blades in fruit and candy bars (there really were a few cases of that). Kids liked it so much that I kept it up, and I even have kids now who come from several neighborhoods away just to get this kind of stuff.

Back in the days when you could trust people not to poison the kids, I used to go to the 'crazy cat lady's house' at the end of our street. The lady there was eccentric but basically sweet, and she gave out these gooey melty toffee covered popcorn balls on a stick that were SOOO good!! I wouldn't let anyone roll her yard or TP her house because she gave out such excellent treats. Thanks for bringing up a pleasant childhood memory that I had nearly lost.

as a kid, we treasured candy bars the best mainly because we were not allowed to have them usually except at Halloween. But they were gone within the next day because my parents would take them, lol! So the next best thing was "smarties", which I would trade for anything else with the other kids.
As and adult, my fave to give out is dum dum lollipops and kraft caramels, besides the candy bars that I also give out!

We usually didn't have the option of handing out candy due to lack of cash. :P But, one Halloween, my mom and dad handed out Reese's peanut butter cups. Eating a few of them themselves. This year, the stupid county won't let me trick-or-treat, so I'm hoping that I have some good candy to dish out. I'm aiming for the mixes of candy, so there's variety this time. :)
Oh, and my favorite was and will always be the amazing candy corn. :D

I'll make sure not to pass Popsicles out. My mom gave out apples for Halloween once, she's a health nutritionist what can I say! = )
